Right....considering it requires a minimum of 1.4 ghz cpu and at least 512mb ram, you must have one hell of an overclock Though the 5200 might handle it a minimum res.
Plus the fact on my pc, with a 2.6g AMD64 and a x800xl, it can struggle with frame rates..
So You cant run cod2 with those specs, and you couldn't run guild wars

I find that hard to believe he can play CoD2. That is a demanding game...spec wise.

I have an old celeron 450mhz lying around somewhere, going to give it a try.
Dood, my x800xl struggles at 1024x768 on med settings, that also includes a 3200 winnie clocked at 2.6 plus 2gig of ram, any higher the frame rates drop substantially, my new pc a dual amd 64 7800gtx etc runs on high settings
However this pc i'm on now plays GW at 1600x1200 full AF and AA, at about 40-60 frames per second

Cannonfodder,
Hmmm....I haven't played CoD2 yet. I was going to wait and get it for my daughter for Christmas. I did go to that site that tells you if you meet Required & Recommended specs on games. It told me my X800XL did not meet the Recommended specs. I was a little stunned. I figured having all that Ram and a 3.4Ghz 650 chipset would be more then enough. I am sure I can play it fine...but not at full tilt. *Sigh*
GuildWars I can run at 1600x1200 4xAA as well. No problems what so ever.

Yup Dood,
CoD2 severely needs patching, some of the levels I was getting 35fps at 1280x1024 with 2xAA, no AF, then the next level I would get 5-7fps, it's so weird as you think it plays good, then it proves otherwise, you can force DX7 so it'll run smoother but you lose out on all the eye candy. Also whoever says AF doesn't affect frame rate have it so wrong, stuck it up to 16xAf and was getting 1-2 frames a sec.
This is the best first person shooter out there in my opinion.. well worth buying it for your daughter, plus the multiplayer mode is something else. Your Pc will play it fine, but like mine only at 1024x768, still it looks beautiful.

Cool...I was also hoping it would drop $10.00 before Christmas too. I am tired of paying $50.00 for a game then seeing them at $19.99 a few months later.

However ... if you manage to get that far, your PC can run GW.

well, i did all that, and WALLA! i got into the place where you have to enter your license key and name. and i saw the landscape and the camera moving in and out and i HEARD the music yay! but ok, then i checked the options to see what kind of preferences the computer automatically gave me fro the game. Full screen 1024 by 740 or something, almost highest graphics and yeah.
